ANXIETY OR COMMON PATHOLOGICAL?

Anxiety is a normal human reaction in situations that can cause fear, doubt or expectation. However, when this feeling persists for long periods of time and begins to interfere in the activities of everyday life, anxiety ceases to be natural and becomes a concern.
The generalized anxiety disorder is a common disease. As with many mental health conditions, is not known for sure what causes this disorder.

It is believed, however, that the generalized anxiety disorder is directly related to some naturally occurring neurotransmitters in our brain, such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. Another belief is that a number of factors may be involved in the reasons why an individual is likely to develop the disease, including genetic and external factors, such as stress of everyday life and the quality of one's life.

Some physical conditions may also be associated with anxiety. Examples include:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
heart disease
Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism
menopause
Risk factors
Factors that may increase the risk of generalized anxiety disorder include:

gender

More than twice the number of generalized anxiety disorder cases occur in women. It is believed that a combination of factors such as hormonal changes and increased exposure to stress can aggravate this situation.
Childhood trauma

Children who have been abused or some kind of trauma, or even witnessed traumatic events, are at greater risk of developing generalized anxiety disorder at some point in life.
concomitant diseases

Having a chronic health condition or serious illness such as cancer, can lead to constant concern for the future, treatment and financial issues. Stress of everyday life can trigger the disorder as well.
personality

People with certain personality types are more prone to anxiety disorders than others. In addition, some personality disorders such as borderline, may also be linked to TAG.
genetics

Generalized anxiety disorder may also be in the blood. More than one person from the same family may have this disorder.
Substance abuse

Excessive use of drugs or alcohol can worsen and even lead to generalized anxiety disorder. The caffeine and nicotine present in tobacco may also increase anxiety and drive the individual to the disease.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder Symptoms
The main symptom of generalized anxiety disorder is the almost constant presence of worry or tension, even when there is little reason or when there is no reason to it. The concerns seem to move from one problem to another as family issues, love, work-related health or various other sources.

Even when people with this disorder are aware that their concerns or fears are stronger than necessary, they still have difficulty controlling these reactions.
